We did it

Wow what a race
The views, the weather and the experience of running in another state was amazing!

The course was almost what they advertised.
The first 9 miles were not bad and we even had a 10 minute pace.
Then the last 3 miles were a killer.
We ran on rocks and sand
I knew I had a blouder in my shoe
funny it was just little pieces of rock

I'll post pictures I took during the race soon!

Finishing time

Mr. C and I did our last run until the half marathon.
We tried the Hammer gel, orange

We didn't need it for our 5 mile run
but we did want to try it before the 13.1 miles

I could definately tell I had more energy and I had a pretty good pace

We also tried to run when it was about 60 degrees.

We figure that will be about the temp when we do our race

Man was it hot

We have been running in 20-50 degree weather

8 more days...

...until the 6 Tunnels to Hoover Dam race.

This will be my second half marathon and Mr. C's first.
I'm really excited for the change in location and scenery

I have slacked off on my training this past week.
I hope that doesn't bite me next Saturday.

My main goal is to run the WHOLE thing and have a better time than my first half.

Didn't want to run...

So today I really didn't want to run after work.
Our schedule is to do short runs on Tuesdays and Thursdays and a long run on Saturdays.

When I get home , I tell Mr. C that he'll have to run without me cause it's just been one of those days. I'm going to ride my stationary bike instead.

Of course Mr. C says "..you gotta run with me, I hate running without you, it's no fun.."

What could I do but lace up those shoes.

And you know, I feel better after the run.
Even though the run was supposed to be 3 miles.

I guess I'll go ride my stationary bike to get the rest of the workout in.

Sometimes you just need a little push.
